Audition Materials for Round 2 Auditions coming soon.
Not able to view the audition materials?
Unfortunately, Copyright laws prevent me from sharing the music on my public website, but if your child has problems accessing the music from home, please email me and I will share the music to their personal Google Folder that they made with me in class. Otherwise, you can check below for the required reading portion.
-Does the audition need to be memorized?
In short, no; memorization is not required. I will have sheet music and a hard-copy of the poem present in the room during the rehearsal. However, many students DO memorize the material and it is a good indication of their ability to do so with character lines later. There will be no penalty for reading off the hard copy, though. :) We're just looking for strong stage presence and characterization in the poem-reading. For the song portion, we WILL ask students to be able to sing independently without the support vocals in the background, so make sure you practice with both tracks!
-What days are rehearsals?
With the exception of Round 1 auditions (Nov 29-30, Dec 3rd. and Dec 6-7) and the Dress Rehearsal weeks (ie: the weeks before and of the performances), ALL REHEARSALS WILL TAKE PLACE ON MONDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, AND THURSDAYS FROM 2:30-4:00PM. **Edit: Not every rehearsal will require full-cast attendance, but Parents will be notified 1-2 weeks in advance if their child will need to be present or not.
-When will the shows be performed?
The dates of the performances will include Wednesday, March 27th at 7:00pm and we will perform two matinee performances on Friday March 29th for Artist's Day.
-Does it cost money to participate?
Yes. There is a mandatory $25 participation fee to assist in cost for royalties for the show, props, and set-building. Students are also required to provide their own costumes (or parts there of) for their assigned character.
